I took a trip to North Carolina back in January. On my way back, I started feeling the transmission slip. About a year back, I had lifted the truck up and asked that company for a recommendation. They suggested Atomic Transmissions. I called them up on my way back and they took the truck in immediately. At first they only had to change the solenoid. After about a month, it started to slip again and it even felt worse. I called them back and again they took the truck in. They had to fully rebuild the trans and even gave me credit from the last job. Now, the truck runs better than ever before. They had very good customer service and got the job done in a timely manner.
This is the kind of shop you need to watch out for. Long story short my brother brought his Raptor truck in for a trans repair cost 6k no warranty Ford Dealership wanted 7k for a upgrade and unlimited miles for 3 years. Manager tried to lie he got there and it was still in engine hot. He lied. Scammers...
Shop was HUGE and awesome. Have an older model truck and the owner of the shop took time out of his day to look at it as a walk in. This guy's got a large staff and could have easily had someone else look at it but didn't and I really appreciated that. Of course I had to make an appointment to bring it back for service, and that was done lickady split and for an extremely reasonable rate. If I ever have any transmission problems I'm going to Atomic. No wonder anyone I asked about who I should try mentioned this place.
The wonderful folk here were able to figure out what was wrong with my SN95's TKO600 and rebuilt my transmission and caught an issue with my rear diff as well at the same time for a pretty reasonable price
Definitely reccomend going to these guys!
These guys are great! Was told by another mechanic that I needed my transmission replaced. Went here for another opinion and turned out that I just needed the speed sensor replaced. Only cost 550 bucks. Way better than the $3800 I was quoted by Blonda's Auto. They even still had the records from when I brought in my Jetta back in '98, 25 years ago! Awesome, just awesome! Thank you Atomic!!!
Daughter was using Yukon when transmission went out she lives in Chicago area I live in Wisconsin. Ed was great to work with, everything was taken care of over the phone.
So far transmission seems to be perfect.
I’ve known the owner since high school and will only bring our service trucks to his shop for transmission service.
Great guy and his employees are the best.
Honest mechanics at affordable prices. Their price was 1500 less than the dealer quote.
